This lovely graphic novel project unites 6 different artists on a single story which follows a struggling writer’s encounter with his foul mouthed, alcoholic muse.

I’m illustrating the world of his disgruntled artist (which you can see on her throne with her trusty wolf buddy).  The Kickstarter offers book pre-orders, prints, and even the opportunity to commission me for a unique piece of art.  Check it out here!

There are just 12 days left to pre-order a copy of MONSTERS via our Kickstarter campaign.  I’ve had a great time working with artists and authors from around the world to put this project together; I’d love to see it in print.

A quick reminder on this sunny and beautiful last day of May that the deadline for Ess Publications’ first compilation book MONSTERS is 15 June.  We’ve already had some beautiful submissions, but I want to hear from you, yes you!  To recap:

MONSTERS is the first in what will be an annual compilation release from Ess Publications.  The brief is simply MONSTERS; real, imagined, external, internal, whatever monsters mean to you.  All forms of printable media will be accepted, from poetry to fine art, comics, collage, illustration, text art and anything in between, so long as they are A5 proportioned (148 mm x 210 mm).  Pieces can be full color of black & white, one page or run over many pages.

To submit, please send a pdf of your finished piece to esspublications(at)gmail(dot)com by 11:59pm BST, June 15, 2014.  Accepted accepted contributors will receive a copy of the publication and a share of any profits.  Ess Publications will run a Kickstarter to raise printing costs.

Kickstarter: done. Open call: out there. What’s next?  Lemme tell ya…

I’ve recently begun work on a new project creating illustrations for S.E. Lucas’ forthcoming novel “Arisen: A Children of the Old Way Chronicle”.  Check out the project’s site!  I get to create watercolor plates and graphite drawings (like the one above) and really channel my inner Alan Lee (as if I ever needed an excuse….)  I am amazingly fortunate to get to work with Shane – talented, kind-hearted guy who’s doing what he loves.  Go check out his Facebook page!
